For you non-running types out there... The Palo Duro Trail Run (better known as the "P.D. 50") is a 50 mile ultra-marathon that takes place every October in Palo Duro Canyon...  The course is made up of a 12.5 mile loop that the competitors run four times during the course of the day.  This day was Brian's first 50 mile race!  (he was the only registered runner out of all of us)  During the first loop, he tripped in the dark (it starts before the sun comes up) and twisted his ankle...  I ran loop three with him and Shea ran loop four...  There were plenty of friends and family on hand to encourage Brian and witness his first 50 miler in a time of nine hours and eighteen minutes!  Good job, Briald!

Brian, Shea and Me at the starting line before the race.

The Tinder family (L to R: Petzl, Brian, Shea and Marra) under the Team Tinder Tent.

A little runners community fire just after the start of the race...

This guy was good at "Amazing Grace" before the gun went off, but you should have heard him later when he busted out "Sweet Home Alabama"!

The Team Tinder Tent... At the trailhead of Sorenson Point.

Runners "glowing" with excitement, just before the start...

100 feet down, 49 miles, 5,180 feet to go!

The field at the beginning of the race...

These guys are already walking!  Freakin' panzies...

Shea "chillin" by the fire... LITERALLY!  (dang, I'm funny)

So, if you've never been to West Texas, this is what a wind mill looks like.

Sun-up over the Team Tinder Tent and Sorenson Point...

If you look really close for a white dot in the bottom rightish hand corner of the picture, you can see the "left overs" from the "deposit" Brian left before the race...
